Do you remember where you were on December 31st, 1999? We do. We were in our friend's basement at a Y2K party with our Boy Scouts group. All the parents were upstairs mingling, and all of us were down on the family computer waiting for all electronics to stop working as soon as the clock hit midnight. We waited. And waited. Finally, we started the countdown… 3… 2…. 1…. nothing. The lights stayed on. The computer stayed the same, just changed the date from '99 to '00.
After that, we all continued to enjoy the pawty and completely furget that we thought civilization would collapse because of the changing of the decade. We probably went back to playing with our NeoPets and making more cat memes to giggle at.
Back then, we thought our problems were so big. Now, we just wish we could go back to those good old days when things were simpler.
